The main position of “Sacrificial gifts” in Zhu Xi’s academic contributions

 

It seems that people are ignoring Zhu Xi’s academic contributions, and people are ignoring the religious connotation of Zhu Xi’s academic teaching. In response, the religious meaning of Confucian cultivation was also ignored. I explained that Mencius “responsible to nature and serve the heavens” completely abandoned “serving the heavens”, so he could not lose his roots without resting himself or establishing his life [2].

 

Zhu Zi paid great attention to the religious dimensions of Confucianism. “Recent Thoughts” written by him and Zuo Zu, the compilation and thinking is to choose the “about big things but focus on daily use”. However, the first part of the book is the discussion of today’s Tao, and I specially asked Zu Zu to write a description of the following article to edit the explanation. “Know its name and meaning, and have a perspective.” The goal of daily cultivation in Ming Dynasty is to know and serve heaven[3], which shows that the two sons pay attention to the religious value of Confucianism.

 

For Zhu Zi, religion is not a simple academic problem, but a major aspect of his actual career. After the social chaos of the Five Dynasties, the loss of gifts was severe, and the people who were at a loss when encountering problems. In response to the urgent needs of society, Zhu Zi compiled “Shi, Burial, and Sacrifice” and “Family Sacrifices of Ancient and Modern Family Sacrifices” [4]. Students believe that the “Family Sacrifices” that was passed down from later generations and produced a profound influence.

 

The “Common Explanation of the Gifts” compiled in his late years is a masterpiece with serious historical value.

 

The main starting point of the gift is that it is the most practical and valuable of the five chapters. For example, in this book, “The Book of Gifts: Sacrifices” is copied, “The way of governing people is not urgent than gifts. There are five chapters of gifts, and nothing is more important than sacrifices.” [5] Zhu Zi said, “The ways of the six chapters are the same, but the use of gifts and joys is the urgent.” [6] The gift system is a political system, a social system, or a religious system. The ceremony shows the national management system that integrates politics and religion. It is hard to imagine how grand the contribution of this book is compiled in Chinese society and Chinese civilization.

 

The gift system has been ruined for a long time, and according to Zhu Xi, “the gift has been ruined for more than 2,000 years” [7]. According to the thoughts of “Ask for the Three Gifts of the Three Gifts”, “With the “Greetings” as a reference, those who have received gifts in “Greetings” and historical books are attached to this book and have a list of commentary and commentary on Confucianism.” It is intended to search for the preservation of storageAll related information and clean up into a complete system. When Zhu Zi and his students complete this task, the contribution can be grand only in terms of his collection of documents; and even thinking about it, the source of information has been expanded to “historical books”, with a huge scale and complete source, which shows its innovative spirit.

 

This task was carried out through Zhu Zi, Huang Jing and Yang Hui’s two generations, and the overall structure was rough. There are many shortcomings left.

 

The General Interpretation of the Merchant of the People’s Republic of China” has sixty-six volumes. The first thirty-seven volumes were supervised by Zhu Zi and formed; the last twenty-nine volumes were handed over to the door to give birth to Huang Jing. The first thirty-seven volumes are 23 volumes, which were written by Zhu Zi, and are listed in this book as the first 23 volumes, named “General Interpretation of the Merchant of the Merchants of the People’s Republic of China”, which is the same as the book’s name.
